Director
Adam Wright is a director of Brookmount Infrastructure, with 13 plus years of experience across Level 1 ASP electrical and communication infrastructure.
“I started as a labourer doing bits and pieces, but I wasn’t really sure which direction I wanted to go in. I met some electrical contractors on one site. I liked what they were doing and that kicked me off in that industry.”
Adam’s mixed background includes several years with Landcom, where he worked across excavation, pipework and communication construction.
“I worked between the two industries – communication and electrical – and moved up through the ranks to team leader and supervisor. I ended up at a major infrastructure company, and that’s where I met Fergal.”
Enjoying every challenge
Adam started as a supervisor with Brookmount Infrastructure in 2017 while still contemplating building his own business. “I’ve always been driven to better myself and that seemed the logical step after my last role. I have two very young kids and it just wasn’t the right time with family however, so when Fergal decided to start Brookmount, I came on board to help get things up and running.”
Once Brookmount Infrastructure was established, Adam and Fergal decided it made more sense to pool their capability. Adam became a director in 2018.
Adam enjoys several aspects of his role at Brookmount Infrastructure, particularly the team atmosphere. “I do like quoting and networking, but I still make time to get on site with the team, which I enjoy. We’re a tight-knit group and we work very well together.”
Another rewarding aspect is the challenge. “I’ve always been physical and I like getting hands-on. I have a civil engineering utilities background, but I’ve always been especially struck by the electrical side. It can be complex – and a challenge. I don’t mind when you get a curly job, because it’s always rewarding when you can overcome an issue and find a solution.”
Outstanding technical skills
Adam’s knack with the technical side likely stems from his family background. “My father was an auto electrician and it’s always been a hobby of mine. My family has a farm and when we’re not riding bikes, we’re always building something.”
He also calls on his technical skills to keep Brookmount’s plant up and running and help us deliver our high-quality electrical Level 1 ASP, civil engineering and communication infrastructure. “I keep the nuts and bolts tightened… literally,” he laughs.
